Alright so I finally got around to actually using my Virgo horoscope for September 2022. I know, I know, it’s old news, but I like to test these things out in real life and see what sticks.
Getting Started
First thing I did was dig up the horoscope from my email. It was buried under a bunch of promo stuff. The main point was about planning and getting organized, which is so Virgo. So I grabbed my notebook, the one with the coffee stain on the cover, and a pen.
The Planning Part
The horoscope said to break things down into small steps. So I looked at my messy September. I had work projects, a bunch of family stuff, and I wanted to finally clean out the garage. It felt like too much.

I started listing everything out. Not in a fancy app, just on paper. It looked something like this:
- Work: Finish the Q3 report, schedule meetings with the team.
- Family: My nephew’s birthday party, call my parents every Sunday.
- Personal: Garage cleanup, go for a walk three times a week.
Then, I took the horoscope’s advice and picked just three things to focus on for the first week. I chose the report, the birthday gift, and just starting the garage by taking out the old broken lawnmower.
How It Actually Went
The first week was okay. I finished the report early because I didn’t try to do it all in one day. I broke it into little pieces, like the horoscope said. The birthday gift was easy, I just ordered it online.
The garage was another story. I got the lawnmower out, but then I saw all the other junk and I almost gave up. But I remembered the horoscope talked about not getting overwhelmed by the big picture. So I just committed to 15 minutes a day in there. Some days I just moved a box. But by the end of the month, I could actually walk in there without tripping over something. It wasn’t perfect, but it was progress.
The Verdict
Did planning my month like a Virgo make it the “best month ever”? Nah, not really. Life still happened. My car broke down in the third week and messed up all my plans.
But honestly, having that simple list and focusing on small steps kept me from totally freaking out. When the car thing happened, I just shuffled my list around instead of throwing the whole notebook away. So maybe the horoscope was onto something. It’s not magic, it’s just a nudge to be a bit more intentional. I’ll probably try it again, but maybe without expecting miracles.
