So last month, I got this idea to try writing career horoscopes – figured it’d be fun to blend astrology with job advice. Grabbed my coffee and dusty astrology books one Sunday morning, focusing specifically on Virgos for December 2014 since that sign’s always overthinking work stuff.
The Research Phase
First, I flipped through my old planner from 2014 (yes I keep those). Checked planetary positions that December – Mercury was doing weird stuff affecting communication, Jupiter camped out in Virgo’s work sector. Jotted down notes like:
- Mars clashing with Saturn mid-month causing workplace tension
- New moon on the 22nd bringing new job possibilities
- Mercury retrograde screwing up contracts after the 8th
Took me three hours just to map how transits affected Virgo’s career houses. My cat kept jumping on the astro charts – left paw prints on Jupiter’s position which felt weirdly symbolic.

Writing the Actual Horoscope
Sipped cold coffee while typing predictions. Remembered Virgos stress over details, so I emphasized:
- AVOID SIGNING ANYTHING between Dec 8-28 (Mercury was drunk)
- Use that perfectionism to spot errors in spreadsheets mid-month
- Job hunters should chase leads after the 22nd when Jupiter gifts luck
Kept rewording that “communication breakdown” warning till my notebook looked like a spider doodled on it. Added some pep talk about bosses noticing their diligence before New Year’s.
Testing it Myself
Figured I should practice what I preach. My boss emailed a contract December 10th – straight into the “ignore till January” folder. Came back from holidays to find three colleagues missed clauses in theirs while I avoided disaster. Got promoted two months later. Spooky.
Still tell Virgo friends Mercury retrograde isn’t messing around after that. Though honestly? Should’ve predicted my printer eating 20 copies right before deadline. Astrology can’t fix cheap ink cartridges.
