So I dug out that 2016 Virgo forecast by Susan Miller last New Year’s Eve. Figured, why not give it a shot? Might as well try something different.
Getting Started
First, printed the whole thing out – no way I’m staring at screens all day. Grabbed my coffee, parked myself at the kitchen table at like 7 AM before the kids woke up. Started skimming. Leo stuff first, whatever. Scrolled down impatiently. There it was: Virgo. Okay, deep breath.
Susan was banging on about career shifts right in January. Made me pause. My job was… fine? But fine ain’t exciting. Highlighted that section. Scribbled “WATCH WORK STUFF?” in my planner for Jan with a big fat question mark.

The Mid-Year Hustle
Then she talks July. Relationships. Saturn messing with partnerships. Honestly, rolled my eyes. “Here we go,” I mumbled. But hey, past experience? This lady sometimes nails it. Jotted down “Talk to J about vacation plans? Maybe expectations?” J’s my husband. Knew we needed to actually plan that summer trip, not just wing it like always. Stuck a sticky note on the fridge calendar for late June: “Saturn Convo? Ugh.”
Money stuff popped up in September. Susan predicted unexpected cash flow if we handled joint finances wisely. Felt skeptical but hopeful. Bank accounts looking sad back then. Marked “Budget Review” for early September. Even set a phone reminder. Felt kinda ridiculous doing it.
Putting It To Work (Kinda)
- January: Kept my ears open at work. Boss mentioned restructuring – bam. Remembered that highlight. Didn’t panic, just paid attention. Ended up volunteering for a new project team that formed. Pure Susan prompt.
- July: Had the damn talk. J and I sat down with coffee. Wasn’t pretty. He wanted camping on a dime, I craved a real break at a beach house. Argued. But… we compromised! Booked a cabin by a lake mid-July. Actually talked finances upfront. Avoided our usual last-minute screaming match over hotel bills. Felt like a win, honestly.
- September: Pulled out the budget spreadsheet. Felt like pulling teeth. Found an old insurance refund we totally forgot about! Like, $500! Stuck it straight into savings. Was it “unexpected cash flow”? Hell yeah. Maybe dumb luck? Maybe Susan? Who cares!
What Actually Stuck
Was it magic? Nah. More like having a slightly smarter to-do list. It forced me to actually think ahead in spots I usually ignore – especially money stuff. Didn’t suddenly become a millionaire or land my dream job. But…
That project team I joined in January? Led to me networking with a manager in another department. Six months later, guess who got offered a better role internally? Felt smoother than usual. Less chaotic. And J and I? We still fight over vacations. Just… maybe less? Or we handle it better? Hard to say. Felt like we used that Saturn transit crap as a dumb excuse to finally air stuff out.
Overall? Gimmicky? Maybe a little. Useful? Surprisingly, kinda yeah. Made me proactive instead of reactive in my own life for once. Printed the next year’s forecast the minute it dropped. Old habits die hard, I guess.
