Back in August 2019, I was really into horoscopes, and as a Virgo, I’d been eyeing that month’s career horoscope. It said there were some tips to boost work, and I was like, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, the horoscope suggested setting clear goals. So, I sat down at my desk with a pen and paper. I started scribbling down what I wanted to achieve at work that month. I wrote down short – term goals like finishing a project within a week and long – term ones like getting a promotion by the end of the year. It was like mapping out a little treasure hunt for my career.
Next, it told me to organize my workspace. I looked around my desk and it was a mess! Papers were all over the place, and my computer desktop was cluttered too. I got up, grabbed a trash bag, and started throwing away all the useless stuff. Then I sorted my important papers into folders. For my computer, I created different folders for different projects and deleted a bunch of old files. It was like giving my workspace a fresh new haircut.

I started saying hello to people in the hallway and asked them how their projects were going. In meetings, I forced myself to speak up and share my ideas. It was a bit awkward at first, but I could see people started to notice me more.
The horoscope also said to learn new skills. So, I signed up for an online course related to my job. Every night after work, I’d sit in front of my laptop and watch those boring video lectures. But I could feel myself getting better at my job as I learned new things. It was like leveling up in a video game.
As the month went on, I could see the results. I finished my projects on time, got more positive feedback from my boss, and even made some new friends at work. It was amazing how following these simple tips from the horoscope could make such a big difference in my career. Maybe there’s really something to these horoscopes after all!
