I got my hands on the Rider Waite Tarot deck a while back, and I was super excited to start exploring it. First, I took the deck out of the box and just looked at it. The cards were so colorful and the pictures on them were really detailed. I shuffled the deck, and it felt kind of magical in my hands.
Then, I decided to do a simple three – card spread. I laid the first card down, which was supposed to represent the past. It was the Ten of Cups. I stared at it, trying to figure out what it meant. The picture on it showed a happy family, and I thought about my own family and how things have been going with them in the past. It made me realize that there have been a lot of good times.
Next, I flipped over the second card for the present. It was the Five of Swords. This one looked a bit gloomy. There were people arguing in the picture. I thought about my current situation and realized that there have been some small conflicts at work recently. It was like the card was shining a light on what was going on right then.
Finally, I turned over the third card for the future. It was the Ace of Wands. The picture had a hand holding a wand with a flower on it. It looked full of energy and new beginnings. I got really excited thinking about what the future might hold. Maybe there would be some new opportunities coming my way.
After that, I started reading the little guidebook that came with the deck. It gave more in – depth explanations of each card. I compared what the book said with my own interpretations. Sometimes, my ideas matched what the book said, and other times, they were different. But that’s what makes tarot interesting, right?
I kept practicing with different spreads. I did a five – card spread one time, which was a bit more complicated. I had to think harder about how all the cards related to each other. It was like putting together a puzzle.
As I used the Rider Waite Tarot deck more and more, I felt like I was getting better at understanding the cards. I could see patterns in my readings, and it was helping me to reflect on my life in a new way. It’s not like the cards tell you exactly what’s going to happen, but they give you something to think about. And that’s pretty cool, if you ask me.
So, that’s my experience with the Rider Waite Tarot deck. It’s been a fun journey of exploration and self – discovery, and I’m looking forward to doing more readings in the future.
