Well, back in October 2020, I was a Virgo really eager to see if there’d be good career opportunities. I started off by checking out my daily horoscopes on some random apps. Every morning, I’d wake up and quickly open that app, hoping to find some positive news about my career.
I also talked to my friends, you know, just chatting about what they thought I should do. One of my friends suggested that I update my resume, so I sat down at my old desk and started typing away. I added all the recent projects I’d worked on, even the small ones that I thought might not matter much.
Then, I decided to start applying for jobs. I spent hours scrolling through job websites, clicking on all the jobs that kind of fit my skills. I hit the “apply” button like crazy, sending out my resume left and right. It was like throwing darts in the dark, not really knowing if any of them would stick.
I also went to a couple of networking events. I was so nervous at first, walking into those rooms full of strangers. But I forced myself to go up to people, shake hands, and start small talks. It was awkward at times, but I managed to exchange a few business cards.
After a while, I started getting some interview calls. I was so excited! I prepared for those interviews like crazy. I practiced answering common questions in front of the mirror, even pretending to be the interviewer and asking myself tough questions. I was sweating bullets during those practice sessions.
Finally, after a few weeks of waiting and going through interviews, I got an offer! It wasn’t the most amazing job in the world, but it was a start. I accepted it right away, feeling like all my hard work had paid off. Looking back, it was a wild ride, full of uncertainty and anxiety, but in the end, I made it through and found a new career opportunity.
