So this week I decided to actually try following my Virgo horoscope predictions from GaneshaSpeaks – you know, just to see what happens. Normally I just skim those things while drinking coffee, but this time I thought hell let’s take it seriously for seven days.
The Setup
First I opened their weekly forecast on Monday morning. It basically said three things for Virgos:
- Stop overthinking work decisions (which is my specialty)
- Say yes to random social stuff (I usually bail)
- Don’t fix other people’s problems (guilty as charged)
Grabbed my notebook and wrote those down like some kind of homework assignment. Felt kinda stupid but whatever.
The Experiment
Tuesday my coworker asked if we should change our project approach. Normally I’d analyze it to death, but instead I literally said “Whatever you think” without obsessing. Felt like I forgot to put on pants but also… weirdly freeing?
Thursday my neighbor knocked asking help with her leaky sink. Old me would’ve grabbed tools immediately. New me said “Sorry, call a plumber” and shut the door. Damn that felt cold but hey – horoscope said stop fixing others’ messes!
Friday night a friend texted about last-minute drinks. Normally I’d make excuses but dragged my ass out. Actually ended up laughing at some stupid jokes instead of stressing about weekend chores.
The Verdict
Honestly? Not as cringey as I expected. Not saying planets controlled my week, but forcing myself to do the opposite of my instincts was interesting. Felt lighter at work when I stopped overanalyzing every damn email. Still feel guilty about that sink though – hope the neighbor doesn’t hate me.
Biggest surprise? That random Friday hangout actually lifted my mood better than my usual “hide under blankets watching Netflix” routine. Might actually try ignoring my brain’s worst instincts more often. Horoscopes or not.
