Well, I’ve always been kinda curious about horoscopes, especially the Virgo weekly horoscopes from Elle. So, I decided to put them to the test and see if they’re really worth trusting.
First off, I printed out the Virgo weekly horoscope from Elle for a whole month. I made sure to mark down the date and read it every Sunday night, right at the start of the new week. I was like a detective, looking out for any signs that the horoscope might be right.
During the first week, the horoscope said there’d be some unexpected social events. I thought, “Yeah, right. How often does that really happen?” But guess what? On Wednesday, a friend I hadn’t seen in ages suddenly invited me to a small gathering. I was pretty surprised, like, “Whoa, maybe there’s something to this.”
The second week, it predicted some minor work – related stress. I was skeptical again. I mean, work stress is so common, it could apply to anyone any week. But then, I got a tight – deadline project out of the blue. I was swamped with work and feeling the pressure, just like the horoscope said.

I was starting to think it was all nonsense. I went about my daily business, going to the grocery store, running errands, and still, no “chance encounter”.
The fourth week was supposed to be a week of relaxation and self – care. I was like, “I wish.” With all the work and life stuff going on, I didn’t see how that was possible. But then, I got a free day out of nowhere. I ended up spending the whole day reading a book and taking a long bath. It was exactly what the horoscope described.
After this month – long experiment, I was still torn. Sometimes, the horoscopes seemed scarily accurate, like they knew what was going to happen. Other times, they were way off. I decided to ask some experts. I talked to a couple of psychologists. One of them said that horoscopes often use general statements that can apply to a wide range of people, a phenomenon called the Barnum effect. Another expert said that sometimes, people just look for signs to confirm what the horoscope says, even if it’s a stretch.
So, are Virgo weekly horoscopes from Elle worth trusting? Well, it’s hard to say. They’re definitely fun to read, and sometimes they might give you a little nudge in the right direction. But as for relying on them completely, I’d say take them with a big grain of salt. They’re more like a bit of entertainment than a reliable prediction tool.
