Well, I was always curious about tarot cards. I mean, can they really predict the future? So, I decided to give it a shot myself.
I first went to a local store and bought a tarot card deck. It was a pretty basic one, nothing too fancy. I brought it home and just stared at the box for a while, thinking, “What the hell am I getting myself into?”
Then, I opened the box and took out the cards. They were all colorful and had these strange pictures on them. I didn’t really know what they meant at first. I started reading the little booklet that came with the deck. It was full of all this mumbo – jumbo about different cards and their meanings.
I decided to do my first reading. I shuffled the cards like I saw in the movies, kind of clumsily. Then I laid them out on the table in a simple spread. I looked at the cards and tried to match them with what the booklet said. It was like trying to solve a really confusing puzzle.
For the next few days, I kept doing readings for myself. I asked questions like “Will I get a raise at work?” or “Is my date this weekend gonna go well?” Sometimes, the readings seemed to make sense, but other times, they were just way off.
I even asked a few of my friends to come over and let me do readings for them. They were all excited at first, but then they started getting skeptical when the readings didn’t seem to match their situations. One of my friends said, “Dude, this is just a bunch of BS.”
After a few weeks of doing these readings, I started to think about what the experts might say. I did some research, you know, just looking around on the internet (not clicking any links, of course). I found out that a lot of experts say tarot cards are more about self – reflection than actual future prediction.
They say that when you do a reading, you’re kind of projecting your own thoughts and feelings onto the cards. It’s like your subconscious is trying to tell you something. And that made a lot of sense to me.
So, in the end, I realized that tarot cards might not be able to predict the future in a real, solid way. But they can be a cool tool to think about your life and what you want. And that’s not too bad, right?
