Alright so real talk – this week I tried something totally weird after reading that Virgo daily numbers thing could help save cash. Felt kinda silly but hey, coffee prices are insane so why not?
How This Started
Woke up yesterday scrolling TikTok in bed like always. Saw this astro blogger ranting: “Virgos! Today’s number 3 + 7 will manifest savings!” Rolling my eyes so hard… but then I saw my bank app notification about overdraft fees. Damn. Desperate times.
My Messy Experiment
Grabbed my cheap notebook and did this:
- Checked three sketchy horoscope sites because who trusts just one?
- Scribbled all the “lucky numbers” – got 3, 7, 5 and 12?? Consensus was not a thing.
- Decided: Fine. Made my combo (3+7) and slapped it on my phone wallpaper.
Actual Real Life Testing
Went grocery shopping after work. Saw fancy $8 kombucha – normally I’d grab two. Stared at my phone wallpaper: “What would $3 + $7 do?” Sounds stupid but… skipped the kombucha. Bought store brand tea ($3).
Later passed the bakery section. Those $6 artisan croissants… literally whispered “7 dollars is dumb for bread” to myself. Got $1 dinner rolls instead. Felt ridiculous arguing with pastries.
End Result? Shock.
Opened my budgeting app this morning: saved $26 in one day?! Mostly from skipping dumb impulse buys. The “lucky numbers” just guilt-tripped me into questioning every purchase. Did the numbers magically work? Nah. But making myself pause and calculate 3+7=10 stopped me from wasting another 10 bucks. Again. And again.
