At the beginning of December 2023, I, a Virgo, was hit hard by work – related stress. The workload piled up like a mountain, and deadlines were breathing down my neck. I felt like I was in a battlefield, constantly fighting against time and tasks.
First, I started to analyze my work. I sat down at my desk, took out a pen and paper, and listed all the tasks I had to complete. There were so many things on that list, it made my head spin. But by writing them down, I could see the whole picture clearly. I divided these tasks into different categories, like urgent and important, urgent but not important, important but not urgent, and neither urgent nor important.
Next, I made a schedule. I used my phone’s calendar app to mark down when each task should be done. I gave myself reasonable time for each task, not too tight that I’d be stressed out, and not too loose that I’d procrastinate. For example, I set aside two hours every morning to deal with the most urgent and important tasks. And I made sure to include short breaks in between, like a 10 – minute coffee break every hour and a half.

Then, I realized that I couldn’t do everything alone. I reached out to my colleagues. I asked them for help with some of the tasks that were more in their area of expertise. They were actually quite willing to lend a hand. One of my colleagues helped me with a data – analysis part that I was not very good at. It saved me a lot of time and energy.
During the process, I also paid attention to my mental state. When I felt really stressed, I’d step away from my desk. I’d go for a short walk around the office building or do some simple stretching exercises. Sometimes, I’d even listen to a few minutes of my favorite music. It really helped me relax and clear my mind.
As the days went by, I kept following this plan. I ticked off tasks one by one on my list. By the end of December, I managed to handle all the work – related stress. I completed all my tasks on time, and I even had some extra time to review my work and make it better. It was a great feeling, like I’d climbed a big mountain and finally reached the top. Through this experience, I learned that with proper planning, teamwork, and self – care, we Virgos can handle any work – related stress in December 2023 or any other time.
