Celestial Tarot Reading (Do your own now)

Celestial Tarot Reading (Do your own now)

So, celestial tarot reading, huh? Yeah, it’s been a real journey for me, I gotta tell ya. For years, I was just kind of floating through life, you know? Like a leaf on a big river, just going wherever the current took me, without much say in it. I was doing a job I didn’t really love, just punching the clock, seeing the days blend into weeks and then months. It felt like I was stuck in a routine, waiting for something to happen, but nothing ever did. That feeling of being on autopilot, man, it really gets to you after a while.

I remember one particularly rough patch. It was probably five or six years back now, when things at my old company started going south. Not just a little bit south, but like, freefall. Layoffs happening left and right, people disappearing from their desks overnight. The air in the office was thick with fear and uncertainty. Every morning, I’d wake up with this heavy feeling in my gut, wondering if today was my day. My sleep went to hell, my appetite disappeared, and honestly, I was just plain miserable. I was looking for answers, for some kind of sign, any little crumb of clarity that could tell me what to do next. Should I jump ship? Stick it out? Where was I even supposed to go?

I tried all sorts of stuff back then, just grasping at straws. Read a bunch of self-help books, went to a couple of those motivational seminars that make you feel pumped for about an hour and then it wears off. None of it really clicked, you know? It felt like I was trying to fit square pegs into round holes. One evening, I was just scrolling aimlessly online, feeling particularly down, and somehow, I stumbled onto some forum talking about astrology and tarot. Now, I’d always thought that stuff was a bit out there, kind of hokey. But at that point, I was desperate. What did I have to lose?

Celestial Tarot Reading (Do your own now)

I started with the really basic stuff, just looking up my star sign and reading those daily horoscopes – which, let’s be real, are usually just vague enough to apply to anyone. But then I saw someone mention “celestial tarot” and how it combines the two. The idea of linking the ancient wisdom of the stars with the archetypes in tarot cards, it just… spoke to me differently. It felt more structured, less random than just pulling cards out of a deck blindly. I thought, maybe there’s something here, something beyond just chance.

My First Foray into Celestial Tarot

So, I decided to just dive in. I didn’t go out and buy a fancy deck right away. Nope, I just used what I had. I pulled out an old Rider-Waite deck I’d been given years ago but never really touched. Then, I found a decent online resource that explained how to map astrological signs and planets to tarot cards. It was a bit overwhelming at first, trying to remember what each planet meant, what each sign represented, and then connecting that to the tarot card meanings. But I took it slow. I started by just picking one planet or one sign that felt relevant to my situation that day, and then finding the corresponding tarot card.

I’d sit there at my kitchen table, after everyone else was asleep, just staring at the card. I wasn’t trying to memorize some big long explanation. Instead, I’d just think about: What’s the energy here? What does this image make me feel? How does it connect to what’s going on in my life, and maybe, how does it connect to the astrological influence I was focusing on? It was less about getting a definitive “yes” or “no” answer, and more about just getting a different perspective, a way to frame my thoughts.

And you know what? It started to work. Not in a magic, instant-fix kind of way. But it gave me a framework. It helped me process my anxieties, to look at my situation not just as a problem, but as part of a larger cycle, a movement. It was like I was finally getting a compass, even if I still had to walk the path myself. It gave me a sense of agency, helped me realize I wasn’t just a leaf, but maybe a rower, and I could learn to steer.

Doing Your Own Celestial Tarot Reading

If you’re feeling that same pull, that need for clarity or just a different lens, doing your own celestial tarot reading isn’t some super complicated magic trick. It’s really about intention and putting in a bit of focus. Here’s how I usually approach it, and how you can too:

  • Get Your Tools Ready: You’ll need a tarot deck, any deck you resonate with is fine. And then, you’ll need some basic astrological correspondences for tarot. A quick search will give you charts that link zodiac signs, planets, and sometimes even houses, to specific tarot cards (often the Major Arcana and court cards, but sometimes extending to minors). Don’t get hung up on perfection; just pick a system that makes sense to you.
  • Set Your Intention: This is huge. Before you even touch the cards, take a few deep breaths. Close your eyes for a minute. What are you seeking guidance on? What question is weighing on your mind? Keep it open-ended, not a “yes/no” question. Something like, “What energy should I focus on for growth this week?” or “What cosmic influences are at play regarding my current career path?”
  • Choose Your “Celestial Focus”: Look at the current planetary positions or the zodiac sign the Moon is in today, or even your own birth chart if you know it. Which celestial body or sign feels most relevant to your question? If you’re asking about career, maybe focus on Mercury (communication, intellect) or Saturn (structure, ambition). If it’s about emotions, obviously the Moon. If it’s about a new beginning, maybe Aries or the Sun.
  • Connect to Your Tarot Card: Once you’ve picked your celestial focus (e.g., “Today, I want to understand the influence of Venus on my relationships”), find the corresponding tarot card in your chosen system. For Venus, it might be The Empress or The Lovers, or even a specific suit or number.
  • Draw That Card (or find it): Sometimes I just go straight for the specific card if I know it. Other times, I’ll shuffle my deck, focusing on my intention and the celestial body, and then draw a card, trusting that the universe will guide me to the right one, even if it’s not the ‘exact’ astrological correspondence. There’s no wrong way here, just what feels right.
  • Interpret and Reflect: This is the meat of it. Don’t just read the little book explanation. Look at the image on the card. What colors pop out? What figures are there? What story does it tell? How does it make you feel? Then, bring in your celestial focus. How does the energy of Venus, for example, blend with the message of The Empress? How does it apply to your specific question? It’s about synthesis, connecting the dots.
  • Journal It Out: I always recommend jotting down your question, the celestial focus, the card you got, and your initial thoughts. It helps cement the insights and you can look back later to see how things unfolded.

It’s not about predicting the future with pinpoint accuracy. It’s about self-reflection, about tapping into ancient symbols and archetypes to gain perspective on your present. It’s about understanding the subtle currents that might be influencing your journey, and giving yourself a bit more agency in how you navigate them. Give it a try; you might just surprise yourself with what you uncover.
