- Wrote “SAY NO” in red marker on my meeting notes
- Put lunch actually IN my calendar so I wouldn’t skip it
- Told my team I’d need 24hrs before taking new assignments
Funny part? The planning took longer than the actual work. Spent like 20 minutes color-coding my tasks while the coffee went cold. Classic Virgo move right there.
During the meeting, boss dropped that “quick favor” project. Almost said yes automatically. Then I saw that “SAY NO” screaming from my notes. Stuttered something like “Let me check my bandwidth tomorrow”. Felt weird but also… kinda powerful?
End of day surprise: That creative block I scheduled? Knocked out three weeks’ worth of blog outlines. Meanwhile my colleague who took the “quick favor” project was still troubleshooting at 7pm. Makes you think huh?
Would I do it again tomorrow? Honestly probably not. But today? Yeah the stars called that one right.
