Okay so I saw this August 2024 Virgo love horoscope thing floating around and thought – why not give it a shot? Nothing to lose right? Pulled up my dusty old planner calendar thingy and grabbed a pen first thing Monday morning.
The Setup Phase
Skimmed through the whole horoscope page real quick. It mentioned some “cosmic alignment” nonsense but honestly I just zeroed in on those supposedly lucky dates. Highlighted August 3rd, 11th, and 19th in my planner with a pink marker – figured those were the days to try romantic stuff. Got my girlfriend’s schedule too so I wouldn’t plan date nights when she’s working late.
Putting It Into Action
First “lucky date” was August 3rd. Took my girlfriend to that new rooftop bar everyone’s talking about. Total gamble since reservations are impossible but somehow – no kidding – we walked in and got the best table right as sunset hit. Ordered fancy cocktails and just talked for hours. Felt like our first date again honestly.
Next was August 11th. Planned a cheesy movie marathon at home with all her favorite snacks. Halfway through the second rom-com she randomly says “You’ve seemed extra thoughtful lately” and gave me that look. Horoscope didn’t mention that part! We ended up ditching the movies completely. Wink wink.
The Big Finale
Saved August 19th for something special since the horoscope called it “peak cosmic connection day” or whatever. Cooked her favorite pasta, lit candles everywhere – the whole cliché package. Dinner was nice but the real magic happened when we just slow-danced in the kitchen to old playlists. Got all emotional remembering our wedding song. No joke – haven’t connected like that in months.
My Takeaway
Look I still think astrology’s mostly BS. But forcing myself to actually plan these special moments? That part worked. Three simple things made the difference:
- Blocking dates made me commit instead of saying “sometime soon”
- Planning surprises pushed me beyond our usual takeout routine
- Creating intentional time without phones/TV changed everything
Truthfully those “lucky dates” were just bookmarks that got me off my butt. The real magic was unplugging and actually looking at each other for once. Might do this monthly now – horoscope or not.
