Alright so today I thought I’d share how I actually do my daily Virgo check-in with the Tarot cards. No fancy stuff, just me and the deck before my second cup of coffee kicks in.
Getting Set Up
First things first, I gotta clear a little space on my usually messy kitchen table. Moved that stack of unopened mail out of the way. Dug out my favorite worn Rider-Waite deck from the bookshelf where I always stash it. The cards feel familiar in my hands, you know? Not brand new stiff, but nice and easy to shuffle.
Made sure my mug of coffee was within reach – essential fuel. Focused my brain for a sec on being open to whatever the cards might show me today, especially anything that vibes with that practical Virgo energy. Wiped the sleep crumbs out of my eyes too!
Drawing the Card
I shuffled those cards for a good minute or two. Not rushing it. Just letting the cards slide through my fingers, letting my mind settle. Was thinking kinda vaguely about the day ahead, what worries might pop up, what work I needed to tackle – all classic Virgo stuff about planning and fixing.
When it felt right, I split the deck into three piles with my left hand, put them back together, then flipped over the very top card. No overthinking, just a simple single pull.
Today’s card staring back at me? The Empress, number three. Big lady, lots of nature, sitting all comfortable.
Making Sense of It for Virgo
Okay, right off the bat, The Empress isn’t the super-organized, detail-obsessed energy folks usually pin on Virgo. At first glance, I kinda scratched my head. “Really? This for today?”
So I sat with it. Drank some coffee. Looked at the image again. All that lush growth, the flowing water… Then it hit me. Maybe today isn’t about ticking off lists or finding that tiny mistake.
- Virgo Brain: Probably wants to micro-manage the garden plan for peak efficiency.
- The Empress Suggestion: Maybe just tend what’s already growing? Nurture what you’ve started instead of starting ten new things? Be kind to yourself?
The Empress kept shouting “Nurture!” at my Virgo self, who keeps wanting to “fix” and “perfect.” Maybe it’s a nudge today to soften that critical inner voice. Maybe it’s about appreciating the results I’ve already grown, even if they aren’t flawless yet. Productivity doesn’t always mean ruthless efficiency, right?
Taking It With Me
I jotted down the card and that little “nurture vs. nitpick” thought right in my little daily journal. Not a full essay, just a quick note: “Empress. Stop yelling at my seedlings. Water them instead.”
Throughout the day, I kept catching myself starting to obsess over tiny details – reorganizing my desk drawers instead of finishing the report draft, stressing over the formatting in an email before even writing it. Each time, I tried to remember the Empress: build it up instead of tearing it down. Was it perfect? Heck no! Old habits die hard. But it genuinely shifted a couple of those moments. Felt less frantic.
And that’s genuinely how I tried to blend the Tarot lens onto my Virgo day today. Simple draw, maybe a confusing card at first, sitting with it until something clicks that feels true for me right now. Anyone else ever get a card that felt totally opposite to their sign’s vibe but ended up making perfect sense?
