Alright so last week I saw this Virgo career horoscope thing from GaneshaSpeaks while doomscrolling. Normally I kinda side-eye astrology stuff, but eh, thought I’d actually try following it for my stupid corporate job this month. Just to see what happens.
First Step: Grabbing The Dang Tips
Opened the PDF, all fancy colors and symbols. Main points were:
- Lucky days: July 11th, 16th, 24th, and 29th marked big with some Jupiter-Uranus mashup. Supposed to be magic for communication, ideas, and opportunities.
- Main Focus: Stop overthinking stuff (classic Virgo problem) and actually talk to people about your career dreams.
- Weird Warning: Avoid making big money decisions around the 20th because Mercury decided to go backwards or something.
I printed it out like a dork. Stuck it right on my sticky-note-covered monitor. My boss walked by, snorted.
Putting Luck Days to Work
July 11th: First “lucky” day. Felt like any other Tuesday. Horoscope said “initiate conversations.” Fine. Cornered Brenda from marketing at the crappy coffee machine. Rambled about wanting to lead a small project instead of just doing reports. Totally awkward. She nodded, said “uh-huh,” and left fast. Felt like an idiot.
July 16th: Jupiter power day or whatever. Had a team brainstorm session. Normally I stay quiet, overthinking every dumb idea. Screwed up my courage, threw out this half-baked automation thing for expense reports. Silence. Then my manager goes, “Huh. Yeah… actually kinda useful. Run with it?” Holy crap. Maybe it was a luck day!
July 20th: Mercury retrograde warning day. Got an email about switching to some fancy new retirement plan offering bigger potential returns. Remembered the warning. Usually I jump on things like that. Didn’t click anything. Just archived the email. Felt weirdly responsible.
July 24th: Another Jupiter day. Scheduled a quick chat with my manager about future stuff. Used the dumb line Ganesha kinda suggested: “How does this project connect to the larger goals?” Manager actually lit up, talked for 20 minutes about strategy and mentioned upcoming leadership workshops I could apply for. Score? Maybe.
So… Did It Work? Kinda?
Okay, let’s be real. July 16th and 24th were definite wins. Talking on those specific days seemed… easier? Or maybe I just psyched myself up because of the stupid printout. Stuff happened.
- Got the go-ahead on my dumb expense idea.
- Found out about leadership training I didn’t know existed.
- Avoided changing my retirement plan randomly.
The awkward Brenda chat? Total flop. But hey, 2 outta 4 ain’t bad for moonbeams guiding your 9-to-5. Weirdest part? Actually initiating chats felt less scary by the end. Maybe the “lucky” days were just excuses to do stuff I was avoiding. Would I try it again? Yeah, probably next month. Even if it’s nonsense, it pushed my butt to do things instead of just stressing internally like usual. Printer jammed again though.
