Back in 2016, I was really into horoscopes, especially when it came to my career. I started off by checking out different horoscope websites and magazines. I’d grab a magazine from the store, sit down on my couch, and start flipping through the pages looking for the Virgo section about career.
I remember one website in particular. I’d open my browser, type in the URL (not gonna say it here as per the rules), and wait for it to load. Once it did, I’d scroll down like a crazy person to find the part about Virgo career in 2016. It said something about a high possibility of changing jobs.
Well, that got me thinking. I was kinda stuck in my current job. I’d wake up every morning, drag myself to work, do the same old tasks, and come back home tired. So, I decided to take action. I started updating my resume. I sat at my desk, opened my computer, and began typing away. I added all my recent achievements, skills, and experiences.

After that, I started applying for jobs. I’d go on job – hunting websites, search for positions that matched my skills, and click the “apply” button. It was like a game of numbers. I applied to so many places, I lost count. Some companies would send me emails asking for interviews. I’d get all nervous, but I’d prepare as best as I could. I’d practice answering common interview questions in front of the mirror.
During the interviews, I’d walk into the office, shake hands with the interviewers, and try to act all confident. I’d talk about my past work, my goals, and why I thought I’d be a good fit for the job. Some interviews went well, and some didn’t. But I didn’t give up.
Finally, after a few months of hard work, I got an offer from a new company. I was so excited! I handed in my resignation at my old job. I walked into my boss’s office, took a deep breath, and told him I was leaving. Then, I packed up my stuff and said goodbye to my old colleagues.
I started my new job. It was a whole new world. The work was more challenging, the people were great, and I felt like I was finally in the right place. Looking back, that horoscope might have just been the push I needed to make a change in my career in 2016.
