I’ve always been curious about tarot cards, especially when it comes to new beginnings. So, I decided to try it out myself. First, I bought a tarot card deck online. It was a pretty standard one with all the major and minor arcana cards.
Once I got the deck, I cleansed the cards. I read that different people use different methods, like using sage to smoke them or just leaving them under the moonlight. I chose the moonlight method. I laid the cards out on my balcony one night when the moon was full and just let them soak up that lunar energy for a few hours.
When I felt the cards were ready, I sat down at my table, took a deep breath, and shuffled the cards. I was a bit nervous, to be honest. I kept thinking about this new beginning I was facing, which was starting a new job. As I shuffled, I focused on my question: “How will this new job go?”
Then, I drew three cards. I had read that a three – card spread is a common way to get a quick insight. The first card represented the past, the second the present, and the third the future. I turned over the first card, and it was The Fool. According to the guidebook that came with the deck, it could mean a new start, but also a bit of recklessness. I thought about it, and I realized that I had been a bit hasty in accepting this job offer without doing all my research.
The second card was The Lovers. This made me think that in the present, I needed to make some important choices. Maybe I needed to decide how much of myself I was going to invest in this new job. I scratched my head and pondered over this for a while.
Finally, I flipped over the third card, which was The Star. The guidebook said it was a positive sign, indicating hope and success. I felt a bit relieved. It seemed like even though there were some bumps in the road, things would work out in the end.
Over the next few weeks, as I started my new job, I noticed that some of the insights from the tarot cards were actually coming true. I made some rushed decisions at the beginning, just like The Fool card suggested. And I did have to make some tough choices about my work – life balance, similar to what The Lovers card implied. And so far, I’m starting to see some positive signs in my job, just like The Star card promised.
Now, I’m not saying tarot cards are 100% accurate. It could just be a coincidence. But it was a fun and interesting experience, and it gave me something to think about during this new beginning. Maybe it’s worth a try for you if you’re facing a new start in your life!
