My horseshoe tarot experiment
So I grabbed my Rider-Waite deck thinking “how hard could this horseshoe thing be?”. Spoiler: messier than breakfast pancakes flipped by a toddler.
Setup struggle real talk:
- Cleared kitchen counter cause dining table had mail mountain
- Almost used coffee-stained placemat before wife yelled “USE CLOTH!”
- Forgot candles. Grabbed nightlight from bathroom. Looked stupid but worked
Started shuffling those cards like a nervous poker player. Dropped three. Took that as “signs” and ran with it.
Actual spreading chaos:
- Placed card 1 (far left) for Past: got The Tower. Great start…
- Card 2 (Present) was upright Queen Cups. Felt proud until…
- Card 3 (Future) upside-down? Couldn’t remember reversal rules. Left it
- Card 4 (Hidden influences) slipped under card 5. “Accidental deep meaning” my foot
Stared at my crooked horseshoe looking like flattened banana. Took photo anyway cause content never stops.
Epic interpretations:
Past Tower card: Remembered work firing last year. Nailed it! Present Queen Cups: Texted mom same day (coincidence?). Future upside-down Hermit? Probably laundry piling up again. Hidden Justice card underneath? Jury duty notice arrived next morning. Spooky? Maybe. Useful? Nah.
Wife peeked and said “Your ‘horseshoe’ looks like pile of trash.” Can’t argue. My first couple tries were garbage. But hey – nobody got stabbed by The Swords cards so winning.
Final thoughts for noobs:
- Spot for placing cards? Anywhere flat-ish
- Reversed card meanings? Google when nobody’s looking
- Feeling stuck? Shuffle again until cards stop flying everywhere
Point isn’t perfection. It’s pulling cards without vomiting from stress. Did I predict lottery? No. Did cat knock over “Future” card? Obviously. Still counts as spiritual experience.
