Hey there! I’m a Virgo, and back in 2019, I decided to make a career change. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to pull it off, and I’m here to share my journey with you.
Step 1: Realize the Need
I was stuck in a job that I wasn’t passionate about. Every day felt like a drag. I started to notice that I was constantly tired and unmotivated. One day, I sat down and really thought about it. I realized that if I didn’t make a change, I’d be miserable for the rest of my life. So, I made up my mind to look for a new career.
Step 2: Self – assessment
I began by listing my skills, interests, and values. I asked myself what I was good at and what I really enjoyed doing. I jotted down all the things I liked, from solving puzzles to working with data. I also thought about my long – term goals. Did I want to be in a creative field or a more analytical one? This self – assessment helped me narrow down my options.
Step 3: Research
Once I had an idea of the career paths I was interested in, I started researching. I used the internet to look into different industries and job roles. I read articles, watched YouTube videos, and even joined some online forums related to my potential new careers. I found out what the job requirements were, the average salary, and the growth prospects. For example, I was interested in digital marketing, so I learned about SEO, social media marketing, and content creation.
Step 4: Gain New Skills
After researching, I realized that I needed to learn some new skills to make the career change. I signed up for online courses on platforms like Coursera and Udemy. I spent my evenings and weekends studying. For instance, to get into digital marketing, I took courses on Google Analytics and Facebook Ads. It was tough at first, but I kept at it. I also practiced what I learned by creating my own mock projects.
Step 5: Network and Apply
I started networking with people in my target industries. I attended industry events, both online and offline when possible. I connected with them on LinkedIn and had some great conversations. They gave me some valuable advice and even referred me to some job openings. Then, I started applying for jobs. I tailored my resume and cover letter for each application. It was a long and tiring process, with a lot of rejections. But finally, I landed an interview and got the job!
Making a career change as a Virgo in 2019 was a wild ride. It took a lot of self – reflection, research, learning, and perseverance. But if I can do it, you can too! Just follow these steps, and you’ll be on your way to a new and exciting career.
