Well, I’ve always been bothered by those creepy dreams. You know, the kind that make you wake up in a cold sweat. So, I decided to find ways to reduce the chance of sensing evil in my dreams. Here’s what I did.
Step 1: Set a Relaxing Bedtime Routine
I started by changing my bedtime routine. Instead of scrolling through my phone until I fell asleep, I’d take a warm bath. The warm water just melted away the stress of the day. Then, I’d put on some soft, calming music. I remember one time I used this nature sounds playlist with birds chirping and gentle waves. It really helped me relax. After that, I’d read a light – hearted book for about 20 minutes. This way, my mind was focused on something positive and not all the crazy stuff that happened during the day.
Step 2: Watch What I Ate Before Bed
I realized that what I ate before bed could affect my dreams. So, I cut out the heavy, spicy foods in the evening. One time, I had a big plate of spicy wings right before bed, and I had the most messed – up dream. Now, I stick to light snacks like a small bowl of yogurt or a few crackers. And I also made sure to stop drinking coffee or any caffeinated drinks at least 6 hours before bedtime. Caffeine always made me jittery and my dreams more intense.
Step 3: Create a Positive Sleep Environment
I spruced up my bedroom. I changed the curtains to a soft, light – blocking fabric so that the room was nice and dark at night. I also added some plants, like a small aloe vera plant. They say plants can improve the air quality. And I put up some positive quotes on my wall. Every night before I went to sleep, I’d look at those quotes and think about something good. For example, there was a quote that said “Every day is a new beginning.” It made me feel hopeful.
Step 4: Practice Relaxation Techniques
Before I went to sleep, I’d do some simple relaxation techniques. I’d lie in bed and take deep breaths. Inhale slowly through my nose, hold it for a few seconds, and then exhale through my mouth. I’d do this about 10 times. Sometimes, I’d also do a little body scan. I’d start from my toes and tense and then relax each muscle group all the way up to my head. It was like telling my body to just let go of all the tension.
Results
After a few weeks of doing all these things, I noticed a big difference. The number of those evil – feeling dreams I had dropped significantly. I used to have at least one or two creepy dreams a week, but now it’s maybe one every couple of months. I’m not saying I never have a bad dream again, but these methods really helped me reduce the chances. So, if you’re also tired of those scary dreams, give these methods a try!
