So, I decided to figure out how to use 19 tarot cards myself. At first, I was totally lost. I mean, these cards look so mysterious with all those strange pictures on them.
I started by getting a basic tarot deck with 19 cards. I held the deck in my hands, feeling a bit nervous. I shuffled the cards like I’ve seen in the movies, kind of clumsily at first. But I kept at it until I felt like the cards were all mixed up well.
Then, I laid out the cards on a table. I didn’t really know what to do next, so I started by just looking at each card carefully. I tried to make up little stories in my head based on the images on the cards. For example, there was a card with a person standing on a mountain. I thought, “Hey, this guy must be feeling really on top of the world, like he’s achieved something big.”

I also read a bit about tarot from some easy – to – understand books. One expert said that for beginners, it’s important to trust your first impressions when looking at the cards. So, whenever I looked at a card, I’d quickly jot down the first thought that came to my mind. This helped me start making sense of the cards.
Another thing I did was practice doing simple spreads. I started with a three – card spread. I’d pick three cards one by one and try to figure out how they related to each other. It was like solving a little puzzle. For instance, if the first card showed a storm, the second a rainbow, and the third a calm sea, I thought it might mean that after a tough time, there’s hope and then peace.
I also shared my tarot experiences with some friends. We’d sit around and I’d do readings for them. It was fun to see their reactions and get their feedback. Sometimes they’d say things like, “Hey, that actually makes a lot of sense for what I’m going through right now!”
Over time, I got better at using the 19 tarot cards. I’m still not an expert, but I’ve learned that with a bit of practice, patience, and a willingness to trust your gut, anyone can start using tarot cards. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to give really accurate readings!
