When it was time to shuffle, I held the deck in my hands and started mixing the cards up. It was kind of like shuffling a regular deck of playing cards, but I tried to focus on my question. I kept thinking about what I wanted to know, like “Will I get that promotion at work?” I shuffled and shuffled until my hands got a little tired.
Step 4: Lay Out the Cards

The third card showed a person climbing a mountain. I was like, “Wow, maybe in the future, I’ll be working hard to reach a new level at work.”
At the end of the whole process, I felt like I had gained some new insights. It wasn’t like I got a 100% accurate prediction, but it made me think about my situation in a different way.
