When I first got my Tarot dagkaart, I was super excited but also totally lost. I didn’t know where to start, so I just dived right in.
I began by shuffling the cards like a crazy person. I held the deck in my hands and shuffled them around, making sure to mix them up real good. It felt kind of magical, you know? Like I was channeling some sort of energy.
After shuffling, I laid out the cards in a simple spread. I just picked a basic three – card spread because it seemed easy enough. The first card was supposed to represent the past, the second the present, and the third the future.
I stared at the cards for a while, trying to make sense of them. The pictures on the cards were really vivid, but at first, I couldn’t figure out what they meant. So, I grabbed a little guidebook that came with the deck. It was full of explanations about each card and what it could mean in different positions.
I started reading about the first card, which was in the past position. It showed a person walking away from a big tower that was on fire. The guidebook said it meant leaving behind something that was unstable or dangerous. I thought about my own life and realized it could be related to a job I quit a few months ago that was really stressful.
Then I moved on to the second card, which represented the present. It was a card with a beautiful garden and a woman sitting in it, looking peaceful. The guidebook said it meant being in a calm and happy place. And yeah, I had been feeling pretty good lately, spending more time with friends and doing things I liked.
Finally, I looked at the third card, for the future. It showed a ship sailing into a storm. The guidebook said it could mean facing some challenges ahead. I got a little worried at first, but then I thought, well, that’s life, right? There are always going to be bumps in the road.
As I went through this process, I kept thinking about how the cards seemed to be reflecting my real – life situations. It was like they were giving me a little peek into what was going on inside my head and what might happen next.
After I finished analyzing the cards, I put them back in the deck and stored them away. I felt like I had learned a lot from that first try. And from that experience, I realized that to use Tarot dagkaart well, you gotta shuffle properly to mix up the energy, use a simple spread to start with, and always refer to the guidebook to understand the cards.
Since then, I’ve done a few more readings, and each time, I’ve gotten better at it. I’ve even started to trust my own intuition more when looking at the cards, instead of just relying on the guidebook. It’s been a really fun and interesting journey!
