When they finally picked a spot? Lisa arrived precisely at 7:30 PM reservation. Dave rolled in at 8:15 going “Traffic was wild bro!” while wiping buffalo sauce on his jeans. Lisa silently recalculated the entire evening timeline on her Notes app. My date whispered “Are they gonna murder each other?”
The breaking point happened when I made them cook together. Lisa measured spices with measuring spoons. Dave grabbed fistfuls of cayenne going “More flavor!!”. Smoke alarm screamed. Burnt pan. Lisa scrubbed scorch marks for 20 minutes while Dave laughed about “adventure cooking”. That’s when they both turned to me like “What’s your damage?”.
Here’s my messy truth after forcing this combo:

- Arguments sneak up fast. He called her “control freak”. She said he “lacked common sense”.

End result? Total burnout. Lisa called it “forced torture”. Dave said “Yeah she’s cool but I’d rather watch paint dry”. What did I learn? Sure opposites attract… until they actually collide daily.
