So a bunch of you asked how I do my monthly Virgo tarot readings. Figured I’d walk through my messy trial-and-error process from this morning. Grabbed coffee first obviously – no magic happens before caffeine hits.
Gathering My Stuff
Dug through my drawer for the Rider-Waite deck I’ve had since college. Found it under my cat Luna who was sleeping on it. Shuffled while thinking “Virgo energy this month” over and over. Nearly dropped cards everywhere because morning hands are clumsy.
The Actual Pull
Fumbled through three different spreads before settling on simple past/present/future. Pulled three cards:

- The Hermit (upside down though)
- Three of Cups
- Ace of Pentacles
Honestly got confused about the reversed Hermit meaning. Checked three different dog-eared guidebooks from my shelf. They all said slightly different things about reversals. Finally just trusted my gut feeling instead.
Connecting The Dots
Sat staring at those cards for like 20 minutes. Kept thinking about my Virgo friend Sarah who’s been stressed at work. The Hermit reversed screamed “overthinking isolation”. Three of Cups made me wonder if she needed more social stuff. Ace of Pentacles felt like “new financial opportunity coming”. Texted Sarah asking if any of this rang true.
She replied within five minutes: “HOW DID YOU KNOW I TURNED DOWN TWO HAPPY HOURS THIS WEEK? AND YES THE BANK OFFERED ME A LOAN!” That little success made me wanna dance.
What I Learned
Sometimes guidebooks just muddy things. Today proved for the hundredth time that just looking at the pictures and trusting personal connections works best. Also learned my cat Luna is a secret Virgo oracle apparently – she rubbed against all the “right” cards.
