Getting Curious About Past Lives
Honestly I never bought into past life stuff before. But last weekend while cleaning my attic, I found grandma’s dusty tarot deck wrapped in purple cloth. Thought what the heck – let’s try those past life spreads everyone talks about on social media.
Setting Up My Messy Workspace
Grabbed my coffee first obviously. Cleared the kitchen table by just shoving bills and junk mail to the side. Didn’t even bother with crystals or incense – just laid out grandma’s worn-out cards on the sticky table. Figured three cards would be enough: one for who I was, one for lessons I carried over, and one for how it screws with me now. Real scientific huh?
The Awkward Shuffling Part
Man these cards were slippery! Dropped like five on the floor. Kept thinking about that overdue electric bill while trying to “connect spiritually”. Finally cut the deck three times like that YouTube tutorial showed. Drew the cards left-handed cause my coffee cup was in the right hand.

Cards that came up:
- The Chariot – upside down
- Three of Swords
- Death card (yeah scared me too)
Making Up Stories From Pictures
Stared at that upside-down chariot like… maybe I was some reckless soldier? Got trampled by horses? Three of Swords felt like heartbreak baggage I still carry. Death card though… that was weirdly comforting. Figured it meant I keep running from changes. Sat there connecting imaginary dots for 20 minutes while my coffee went cold.
Not What I Expected
Truth? I felt silly the whole time. But weirdly kept thinking about how I quit college last year – maybe that’s my “chariot flip” moment? Honestly it’s probably all nonsense but here’s what stuck: I started journaling bout past regrets next morning. Did the cards reveal past lives? Doubt it. Did they shake something loose in my thick skull? Okay fine… maybe.
