So I decided to finally crack open my Radleigh Valentine angel tarot deck last Tuesday. Felt kinda lost about my job situation and thought, why not? Grabbed the box from my bookshelf where it’d been collecting dust since Christmas. The artwork looked pretty chill with all those feathers and soft colors.
First thing, I flipped through the little guidebook that came with it. Realized the meanings are way simpler than regular tarot cards. Like, that Page of Fire card? Normal tarot makes it sound like bad news, but here it’s literally just “follow your passion”. Kinda felt like a cheat code.
Then I spread the cards on my living room rug – kinda awkward ’cause my dog kept trying to sit on them. Shuffled three times like the book said, focusing real hard on my job dilemma. Did this clumsy three-card spread:
- Left card for past crap
- Middle for current vibes
- Right for future possibilities
Honestly thought I’d mess it up.
Drew Eight of Earth for past position. Book said “stop overworking idiot” basically. Which hit hard ’cause yeah, I burned out at my last job. Middle card was Three of Air – showed this angel cutting chains? Made me realize I’m still mentally stuck in old drama.
But here’s the wild part – future card was Ace of Water. Guidebook screamed “NEW CREATIVE OPPORTUNITY” in all caps. Started laughing ’cause my buddy just texted about a freelance gig two days prior. Didn’t even connect it till then.
Whole session took maybe 20 minutes max. Didn’t expect much but surprisingly didn’t feel like fortune-telling nonsense. More like someone slapped me awake about stuff I already knew but ignored. The meanings being super literal helped – no weird metaphors about dying swans or whatever.
Would I trust these cards to pick my lottery numbers? Hell no. But for quick reality checks? Not bad at all. Just remember to move the dog first next time.
