Getting Started With My Deck
Alright, so I finally pulled out my Serpentfire Tarot deck this morning. First things first, I needed the right mood, you know? Grabbed my coffee – spilled some, obviously – wiped it up quick before it soaked the tablecloth. Next, just sat quietly for a minute or two. Didn’t meditate proper, just tried to clear my head while my neighbor’s stupid leaf blower was going off somewhere outside. Ugh.
Picking a Focus & Shuffling Chaos
Decided I wanted a quick vibe check for the day. No huge question, just “What’s the energy I should be aware of?” Simple enough. Started shuffling those gorgeous Serpentfire cards. Let me tell ya, this deck is slippery! Cards kept flying out. The Hermit, the Tower (scary!), and this weird Knight of Cups reversed landed face up on the rug. My cat decided that was the perfect moment to investigate, nearly sitting on the Tower. Great sign, right? After shooing her away, I shoved those escapees back into the deck and kept shuffling till it felt kinda done. Or I got tired of shuffling.
The Simple Three-Card Toss
Figured I’d go ultra-simple: the classic Past-Present-Future three-card spread. Not reinventing the wheel here. Just laid them out right to left:
- First Card (Past): Ten of Wands. Yep. Felt that. Big ‘ol burden lifted recently. Spot on.
- Second Card (Present): The Empress reversed. Hmmm. Okay. Felt a little prickly. Creativity blocked? Maybe just feeling lazy about housework? Stared at it for a while.
- Third Card (Future/Lookout): Page of Swords. Ooh, curiosity and sharp ideas. But that Page energy… a new project needing research? Maybe a random message? Wasn’t super clear.
Making Sense of the Mess
Stared at the Empress reversed bugging me. Flipped through the Serpentfire guidebook real quick – the artwork makes the meanings stick better, honestly. Book mentioned neglecting nurturing stuff. Ding ding ding! Been skipping my walks! Been eating junk food all week because I’m “too busy”. Bam. That reversed Empress slapped me awake. The Page of Swords felt like it linked up with that – probably telling me to research some healthy quick recipes or finally look up that yoga video I bookmarked months ago. The Ten of Wands made sense as background noise.
Overall, took maybe 10-15 minutes total, cat interruption included. Not perfect, kinda messy, but got the job done. Clear message: stop neglecting yourself, dummy, and get ready for a little mental spark. Serpentfire deck didn’t disappoint – the images really pull you in fast. Okay, time to find that yoga video…
