Back in 2017, I was a Virgo feeling pretty stuck in my career. I was working in a job that just didn’t feel right. It was like I was running on a treadmill, going nowhere fast.
I started by doing some soul – searching. I asked myself what I really wanted to do with my career. Was it about the money, the work – life balance, or the passion? I jotted down all my thoughts on a piece of paper. I listed my skills, my interests, and my dislikes about my current job.
Then, I began researching different career paths. I spent hours on the internet, reading about various industries. I looked at job descriptions, growth rates, and what kind of education or training was required. I even reached out to some people on social media who were working in the fields that interested me. I asked them about their daily work, the challenges they faced, and if they liked their jobs.
After narrowing down a few options, I decided to take some action. I signed up for a couple of online courses related to the new careers I was considering. I was like a sponge, soaking up all the knowledge I could get. I worked on projects during these courses to practice my new skills.
Once I felt a bit more confident, I started applying for jobs. It was nerve – wracking! I sent out my resumes and cover letters, and then waited anxiously for responses. Some companies rejected me right away, but some invited me for interviews. I prepared for these interviews like a warrior going into battle. I rehearsed answers to common questions and came up with some unique selling points about myself.
Finally, after a few months of hard work, I landed a new job in a field that I was really excited about. It was like opening a new door to a whole new world. The work was challenging, but I felt fulfilled. I was no longer dreading going to work every day.
Looking back, I think 2017 was the right time for me to make that career change. I was fed up with my old job, and I had the energy and motivation to try something new. According to a career expert, people are more likely to succeed in a career change when they are truly passionate about the new field and have done their homework. And that’s exactly what I did.
So, if you’re a Virgo in 2017 (or any other time) thinking about a career change, don’t be afraid to take that first step. Do your research, learn new skills, and go for it! You might just find the career of your dreams, just like I did.
