Alright so last week I was digging through my old notebooks trying to get some direction for this quarter, right? Stumbled on my 2020 Virgo career horoscope notes. Figured why not actually do what it said step-by-step this time instead of just reading it and forgetting.
The Starting Point
First I dug out that actual PDF I saved years ago. Printed the whole dang thing. Sat down at my kitchen table with a giant mug of coffee – way too strong, honestly. Grabbed three highlighters: yellow, pink, green. Yeah, old school.
I went straight to the “Virgo Career Forecast” section. Yellow highlighter started slashing across lines like crazy:

- “Methodical planning is key”
- “Revise professional goals quarterly”
- “Focus on team communication”
Pink went on anything with deadlines like “Mid-year financial adjustments crucial.” Green highlighted stuff like “Avoid overcommitting projects” – cause man, I need that tattooed on my hand.
The Actual Doing Part
Then I grabbed my dusty planner. Seriously, cobwebs. Opened to a fresh page and just started dumping:
- Wrote down EVERY work task I’ve been avoiding.
- Broke my messy spreadsheet “career goals” into actual steps.
- Scheduled 15 minutes every Monday to just… talk to teammates. Not work talk. Human talk.
Took my pink-highlighted deadline notes and blocked real calendar alerts for June budget reviews. Drew big fat green arrows pointing at those blocks screaming “DON’T SCHEDULE NEW STUFF HERE.”
The Reality Check
Honestly? Felt ridiculous for the first two days. But last Thursday? That’s when magic happened. Got pulled into three “urgent” meeting requests. Normally I’d say yes and drown. Instead I checked my calendar with the green arrows. Said “Nope, got budget deep dive locked in. How’s next Tuesday?” Felt like a superhero not drowning in work.
Biggest win though? That quarterly goal thing. Found out my job hunt spreadsheet had 37 companies – chaos. Following the “methodical planning” yellow notes, I made three simple lists:
- “Dream Companies” (5 max)
- “Realistic Targets” (10 max)
- “Backups” (also 10 max)
Tossed the rest. Prioritized applications based on actual quarterly capacity. Crazy how it actually worked – landed two interviews this week alone just from focusing properly.
So yeah. Turned some random old horoscope into actual sticky notes on my monitor. Sounds silly till you try it.
