When I first got a new tarot deck, I was super excited but also a bit lost. I mean, what do you do with these shiny new cards?
First thing I did was unbox the deck. I carefully took the box and opened it up, like I was unwrapping a precious gift. The cards were all neatly packed inside, with a little guidebook. I took the cards out one by one and just looked at them. The colors were so vivid, and the pictures on each card were really something. I was like a kid in a candy store, just marveling at all the details.
Then, I decided to shuffle the cards. It felt a bit awkward at first because the cards were brand – new and a bit stiff. But I kept at it, kind of like working out a new muscle. I shuffled them over and over again, thinking about how these cards were going to be my new friends in the spiritual world.

After shuffling, I laid out the cards on my table in a big spread. I just stared at them, trying to make some sense of the random arrangement. I didn’t really know what I was looking for, but it was like I was waiting for the cards to tell me a story. I even talked to the cards a bit, like “Come on, guys, show me something cool.”
I also read the guidebook that came with the deck. It was full of all these explanations about each card. I was sitting there, flipping through the pages, trying to match the pictures on the cards with what the book said. It was a bit of a challenge, but it was also really interesting. I learned a lot about the meanings behind the cards, like what the different symbols and characters represented.
To really bond with the cards, I started doing small readings for myself every day. I’d ask a simple question, like “What should I focus on today?” and then draw a card. At first, the answers seemed a bit vague, but as I kept doing it, I started to understand them better. It was like building a relationship with someone new; it takes time to get to know them.
Another thing I did was store the cards properly. I got a nice little pouch to keep them in. I put them in there gently, like I was tucking them into bed. I also made sure to keep them in a safe place, away from things that could damage them.
Over time, I felt like I really connected with my tarot deck. The cards became more than just pieces of paper with pictures. They were like my little advisors, always there to give me a nudge in the right direction. And now, whenever I pick up my tarot deck, I feel a sense of comfort and excitement, ready to see what new insights they have in store for me.
