My Big Messy Virgo Guide Project
Okay so I saw the 2024 horoscopes popping up everywhere early December and figured, hey maybe I could bang out something useful for Virgos – keep it totally free, chuck in some love & money tips. Boss wants clicks.
Started like always: total research mess. Pulled up old books, clicked around forums till my eyes hurt, checked what other sites were chucking out there. Trying to find the real stuff, not just fluffy nonsense. Wrote down anything that seemed remotely useful for Virgo folks on a coffee-stained notepad. Took forever.
Next up: building the structure. Wanted monthly breakdowns obvious. Drafted this nightmare:
- January: Work crap & maybe new gym buddy?
- February: Watch your wallet & stop being awkward on dates
- (repeat pain for all 12 months…)
Hit a wall trying to blend love advice that wasn’t cringe and money tips making actual sense. Draft looked like alphabet soup. Trashed it after three coffees.
Design part was worse than expected. Boss insisted on “not looking like a 2005 blog”. Found some free astrology icons – scales, stars, the whole shebang. Threw them in a simple grid layout. Third try looked kinda okay, not gonna win awards. Colors? Virgo green-ish, obviously.
Wrote the actual horoscope bits trying hard not to sound like a fortune cookie. Made promises like:
- “April’s focus: Stop stressing your partner about dishes”
- “August cash tip: Hide your card before online sales”
- “Virgos secretly spicy? July says maybe”
Tweaked wording forever. Didn’t want Virgos rolling their eyes.
Published day: sweaty palms. Uploaded the doc, triple-checked all dates and months matched right – nightmare if January advice popped up in October! Linked it nowhere fancy, just shoved it on the blog feed with a basic pic. Didn’t wanna pay for fancy artwork.
Told folks on the free newsletter. Said “made with love not algorithms” hoping someone cares. Waiting to see if anybody clicks it. Main win? The guide exists now. Done is better than perfect, boss says. We’ll see. Just wanted something real out there for Virgos next year.
