Your Virgo Career Horoscope August 2023: Find your path.

Your Virgo Career Horoscope August 2023: Find your path.

Man, August 2023, it felt like a total turning point for me. I’m a Virgo, you know, and we tend to overthink everything, always chasing that perfect plan, that perfect path. But that month? It wasn’t about planning anymore; it was about finally doing something about that nagging feeling I had about my work life. It was about finding my actual path, not just sketching it out on paper.

I remember sitting there, staring at my computer, feeling this deep sense of unease. Not unhappy, not exactly, but just… not aligned. Like my wheels were spinning but not really going anywhere I truly wanted to go. It had been building for a while, this feeling, but August 2023, for some reason, just pushed me over the edge. I just couldn’t ignore it anymore.

I started by simply looking around. I literally opened up job sites, not to apply, but to just see what else was out there. What jobs even existed that I hadn’t considered? It felt like throwing a bunch of spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck. I found myself clicking on all sorts of crazy stuff, from wildlife photographer to data analyst, things I had absolutely no background in. My brain was just trying to grasp at anything that felt different, anything that sparked even a tiny bit of curiosity.

Then, I moved on to talking to people. This was huge. I started reaching out to old friends, former colleagues, anyone who was doing something even remotely interesting. I’d just ask them, “Hey, what’s your day like? What do you actually do?” I wasn’t looking for a job from them, just trying to soak up their experiences. I remember one buddy, who’d switched from tech to being a pastry chef, told me about getting up at 4 AM to bake. It sounded insane, but he was so full of life talking about it. That really struck me. It wasn’t about the job itself, but the energy he had for it.

Digging Deep and Getting Real

After a bunch of chats, I realized I needed to get more organized with my own thoughts. I pulled out a big, blank notebook, no lines, just plain white pages. I started writing down everything – what I liked about my current gig, what I hated, what I thought I was good at, what I absolutely sucked at. I even listed out my weird hobbies and what made me lose track of time. This wasn’t about being neat; it was about dumping all the noise out of my head.

  • I scribbled down skills I never even thought were “work skills,” like being good at calming down my panicked friends, or organizing ridiculous road trips.
  • I wrote about what truly drained my energy versus what energized me, even if it wasn’t work-related.
  • I listed out values – what was actually important to me beyond a paycheck. Things like freedom, making a real impact, learning new stuff, not just sitting in meetings all day.

It was messy, really messy. Sometimes I’d just draw pictures or big arrows connecting random words. It wasn’t a formal process at all, just me trying to make sense of my own gut feelings. I even tried out some online quizzes, the cheesy “What’s Your Dream Job?” kind, just to see what kind of wacky suggestions they’d spit out. Most were garbage, but once in a while, a concept would pop up that made me pause and think, “Huh, maybe?”

The Small Steps and The Big Reveal

The biggest breakthrough came when I stopped trying to find the perfect job title or career. Instead, I started looking for pieces of work that aligned with those values and energized me. I realized my path wasn’t a single highway; it was more like a collection of trails that could lead to something bigger.

I started volunteering for a local community project that involved organizing events. It had nothing to do with my day job, but I loved the challenge of bringing people together and making things happen. I also picked up an online course on something completely different, just for fun, just to learn. It wasn’t about getting a certificate; it was about feeding that part of my brain that loved new information.

Slowly, these little side things started to connect. I saw how my knack for calming people down (from my friend-group experiences) could be useful in project management. I realized the thrill I got from organizing events was about solving complex logistical puzzles. And the online course, completely unrelated at first, opened my eyes to a whole new field that actually needed those specific organizational and people skills.

It wasn’t a sudden “aha!” moment like in the movies. It was more like a fog slowly lifting. I began to see patterns in what I enjoyed, where my natural talents really shone, and what kind of environment made me feel alive. I wasn’t finding a new job as much as I was piecing together my own blueprint for what fulfilling work looked like for me. And man, that feeling of finally seeing a direction, even if it’s just a rough sketch, it’s pretty powerful.
